Dreamer: In present life I am a 26 year old female but last night I had a dream it was like I was back in high school trying to rush to class. At first I was like walking with my mom & it seemed like we were leaving the school & then I saw the back of 2 of my friends I guess. I kept trying to get their attention but they kept ignoring me so I got mad. Then it was like my dream switched & then I was trying to rush to class. I finally found my class & it was crowded. I had an Asian teacher and her name was Ms.barb? Idk but she was really pretty. I don’t remember what she was teaching but I remember writing a note to a friend and asking her if she knew why my 2 friends were ignoring me and she said she didnt know. Next I saw my old friend Serina (we aren’t as close anymore in real life) and she had a pan full of spicy noodles wrapped in seaweed & told me to try one so I did. After that her and I went to sit and talk to the teacher and then it was like my teacher switched from being a female to a male and from what I can remember he was kinda cute. He was telling me his ethnicity and stuff and then I told him mine, we were both mixed with Asian and black (which I really am) and it’s like I almost felt like he was flirting with me? But idk. Then sitting next to us was another old friend of mine named Naisa (we haven’t talked in years in real life. She moved in middle school) she’s Asian too.. idk if that means anything. But once again my dream switches and the teacher is showing our work on an overhead projector and it’s showing some girls work and in her work on the top corner of the page it keeps saying “my 6” and I guess all of this was a letter to my Ex Ray that she is now dating? When I saw this I started clapping and laughing in the class because I guess it made me a little mad and he was in the class with me. (In real life me and this ex have both moved on but he still tries to contact me sometimes so idk what this means) after all of that, I woke up.
Dreams about high school often symbolize nostalgia, unfinished business, or unresolved emotions from that period of life. Your experience appears to touch on several themes, including feelings of connection, validation, and perhaps some unresolved conflicts or feelings regarding your past relationships.
Trying to Get Attention: The frustration you felt when your friends ignored you might reflect feelings of being overlooked or not valued in your current life. This can signify a desire for connection or acknowledgment from those around you.
Transitioning Teachers: The changing teachers can represent shifting authority figures or influences in your life. The attractive male teacher flirting with you may symbolize a new phase of self-confidence or expectations of romance that you associate with your growth from adolescence to adulthood.
Friends and Connections: The presence of old friends, particularly those you’ve grown apart from, could indicate a longing for the simplicity of those relationships or a desire to reconnect with past aspects of yourself. The shared cultural background with the teacher may reflect an exploration of identity and belonging.
Ex and Transitioning Feelings: The emergence of your ex in the dream could suggest you are processing your feelings about him and the relationship. The fact that you reacted with clapping and laughter might indicate a sense of empowerment or closure, reflecting the moving on you both have engaged in, despite his attempts to contact you.
Food Symbolism: The spicy noodles wrapped in seaweed could symbolize something new, exciting, or even a little bit overwhelming, suggesting that there are new experiences or connections forthcoming that might challenge you in some way, particularly in friendships and relationships.
Overall, this dream seems to encapsulate themes of connection, a desire for validation and acceptance, exploration of romantic feelings, and the processing of past relationships and friendships. It might be helpful to reflect on how these themes appear in your waking life and what steps you might take to feel more connected to those around you.
